Dr. M.H. ‘Mac’ McGlamery, Jr.
Dr. McGlamery (Mac) D.V.M. graduated from Texas A&M University in 1969 and began practicing veterinary medicine in Georgia while doing post-doctoral studies in microbiology and virology at the University of Georgia. He then relocated to Florida and purchased Park Animal Hospital in June 1973. He also became one of the founding owners of the Animal Emergency Clinic in St. Petersburg. Dr. Mac finds it extremely fulfilling to help clients and their pets. He also enjoys the everyday challenges that arise in the profession.
Dr. Jamie Scarpino
Dr. Jamie Scarpino has joined Park Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian. She is a St. Petersburg native who has been practicing locally for the last twenty-four years. Her twenty-four years of emergency experience is of great benefit to our family practice and our pets’ wellbeing. She graduated from Auburn and Tuskegee University in 1987 and 1994 respectively. She is very involved in the community, working with Pinellas Hope for the Homeless Catholic Charities, St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, Spirit FM and other area charities.
Rachel McGlamery was hired November 1972 by the original hospital owner Dr. Jolley Rogers and three years later became a Certified Veterinary Technician. Rachel’s duties include those of the office manager and many other aspects of the practice.
Liz Steadman started volunteering at the age of 12 under her mother Rachel McGlamery’s supervision and was officially hired as the receptionist in 1989. She answers phones, schedules appointments, assists in exam rooms and surgery, and helps the office manager when needed.
Jenny Glover has been employed at Park Animal Hospital, Inc. since 1998 when she started working in the kennel after high school. She has been a Veterinary Technician since 2002. She graduated in June 2006 as a Certified Veterinary Technician from St. Petersburg College. Her job as a CVT includes running the lab, working in radiology, assisting in anesthesia/surgery and assisting in exam rooms.
Debbi has been with us for over five years. Your dog will know her well because she’s so kind to them and because she gives them treats. She often leaves her trademark on their noses - brightly colored lipstick kisses. She is also known to sing to our four-legged pets to help calm them. Debbi is happy to greet clients either on the phone to schedule an appointment or when you walk in the door for pet products.
Debbie is an avid photographer who enjoys visiting her favorite vacation spot, Yellowstone National Park, with her husband. Some of her pictures are in our lobby. She also enjoys spending time with her loving family including all of her fur babies.
Caitlin studied veterinary care at Tarpon Springs High School and earned her Veterinary Assistant Certification with honors. She interned with us and has been employed here since 2014.
Caitlin provides the best comfort care for your pet(s) when boarding them or when they’re in the hospital for treatment. She walks the dogs, makes sure they are clean and fed, and helps in exam rooms. Caitlin enjoys the company of her two big lovable dogs.
Sandy started here for her very first job in the 70s. She then went on to become a police officer. Now she has retired and come back to work part-time. Sandy mainly works in the kennel with all the dogs and cats. She ensures all the pets in our care are safe and eating well. She also makes sure that the kennel is clean, bathes your pets and takes them outside for walks. In her time off, she plays softball and rides her motorcycle.
Dotti is our new receptionist. She will greet you when you come in for appointments and food/medicine pick-ups. She answers the phone and schedules appointments. Dotti will help you in any way possible. Having bred and trained show Rottweilers in the past, she boasts a wealth of training knowledge. If you have training issues, you can always call and ask her questions. She enjoys her job.
